Your tax preparer will be asking you for more identifying information this year. The IRS is asking all paid tax preparers to include on individual tax returns, government issued ID numbers - for most of us this will be your Driver’s License number. You will need to bring this, or a copy of it, to your tax preparation appointment. This includes taxpayers and their spouses if filing jointly. This is currently the best form of identity protection when filing your return.
